How Scrabble Scoring Works
Every letter in Scrabble has a fixed base point value. Common letters like E, A, I, O, N, R, S, T are worth just 1 point, while rare letters like Q and Z are worth 10 points each. The total score of a word is the sum of all its letter values (before any board multipliers).
Words with Friends uses a slightly different point system — for example, L is worth 2 points instead of 1, and H is worth 3 instead of 4. This calculator shows both side-by-side so you can compare.
